History of Kenya, Rungeto
Rungeto, located in the southern foothills of Mount Kenya, produces some of the finest Kenyan coffees on rich red volcanic soil. The cooperative’s Karimikui factory is known for its focus on quality, with ripest cherries hand-sorted and processed meticulously to ensure clean, well-structured coffees. The coffee is washed and soaked to emphasize the hallmark Kenyan profile. Rungeto’s manager, Frederik, also helps improve farmers’ livelihoods through dairy infrastructure, microfinancing, and income diversification efforts.
